Anyone From 8 to 108 Can Help the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Victims!

 

Hurricane Katrina has left us the people of the United States with a Daunting task. An Area of the United States Larger then the size of Great Britain is in Total Devastation. New Orleans a City of over 500,000 is in Ruins. Over 90% of all Houses in New Orleans are Damaged, many are a total loss. Over 150,000 Displaced People from NEw Orleans are in Houston. The Relief effort will continue for months if not years. Anyone from 8 - 108 can help.

There is a school in Florida that is selling Mardi Gras Bids to raise Money. A Senior who admits to being 80 something is knitting blankets at the rate of 2 or 3 a week for the disaster victims. many People are offering Money, Food and Cloths to help the Disaster Victims. The American red cross has raised over 100 Million Dollars.

Some People don't have money or cloths to give but want to do volunteer work. You can go to the web site networkforgood.org and see how you can help.

Many People do want to give money, Blankets, Food, Clothing but want to make sure the help thy give really does go to the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Victims. No charity will give 100% of all their proceeds tom charity. They have expenses. Someone has to write the checks, answer the phones, and verify the money is used in a proper manner.

The Web Site charitynavigator.org is run by a non profit group that rates all charities on a scale of 0 to 70, Any Charity that scores 60 or above gets 4 Stars. Charity Navigator lists the following 4 Star Charities that are helping in the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Effort
