Pollution in China

Have you been reading the research, reports and white papers on China's pollution problems? The Chinese Government has been taking the approach that the solution to pollution is dilution. The incredible strategy worked good for a while but as China's flexes her economic muscle she could pull something and cause herself to miss the rest of the season. You see China as a drought issue and its need for city water has increased in the largest cities like Shanghai and Beijing. Unfortunately twenty percent of their water is lost in these cities to leaky pipes alone.

The Dam Project is shaky and it is on shaky ground, as in Earthquake Fault Regions. Additionally it is flooding valley where the water is also polluted. On top of that their rivers are often polluted with sewage and oil spills and they are still eating the fish. Did you know less that half of the sewage from China's largest cities is treated? Where does it go? Well that is one reason that the Dolphins do not come around any more, they are sick and tired of that...

Due to the huge Industrial Growth most of the rivers in China are undrinkable due to pollution. Many rivers have dried up completely and some are contaminated with salt water, making for a huge health problem as the people are being exploited for cheap good to sell the world over.

Can China tow giant ice bergs into the harbors for fresh water? Something has to be done. People will die of terrible diseases and there is no time to build the infrastructure needed and nowhere to pipeline the water in even if they did? Can they bring it in by train from Siberia? Could be. Could they bring water in by ship from desalination plants in the UAE or Saudi Arabia? Sure it is possible and water could become more valuable than oil as it already is in the Middle East.

China admits they have a problem and that they are challenged by what they believe is the World's Worst Water Situation due to long-tern droughts, Industrial pollution, human waste and sewage, as well as they intense economic expansion fueling demand beyond the abilities of the current resources and infrastructures. Well, this is good to hear that they admit a problem and like an alcoholic that would be the very first step, now the tough part; dealing with the problem at speed to save the nation from devastation and economic ruin. Think on this.
