Syria with an army of 225,000 has volunteered to join with Hezbollah to fight the Jewish state of Israel. Although this is only a threat right now it appears to be geared towards getting Israel to sign off on the United Nations cease-fire call to action and resolution. If Syria joins Hezbollah in the fight that you can probably expect that the Lebanese army will go all in. Not that they will have much chance, but this certainly raises the stakes in the war between Hezbolla and Israel. It is amazing to watch CNN and have so many commentators so surprised that this latest development. No one should be surprised, as Syria and Hezbolla have been working together for nearly a decade. Syria houses tend of the worst Islamic fundamentalist radical international terrorist groups on the planet. Syria has a nearly unlimited supply of rockets and many long-range rockets with Russian technology and their troops are also Russian trained. Syria and Iran have a war pact and if either of them is involved in a war the other has promised to support them. The thought of World War III in the Middle East in the present periods is becoming more likely by the day. Hezbollah will not agree to a truce or cease-fire even if it is limited in scope and Israel even if it did agree to a cease-fire, it would only be Intel Hezbollah attack them again with another rocket and again the violence would start all over again and the cease-fire would be a very short time frame. Please consider all this in 2006. |
