Menopause Relief for Insomnia, Night Sweats, Hot Flashes, Bloating and Skin Condtions

The word that comes to mind when I think of Geranium is "balance" - physically and especially emotionally!

Geranium has a fresh, slightly rosy scent with a fluid consistency and mixes well with many other essential oils.

Geranium has won the notable distinction of being called a "Woman's Oil" and in my aromatherapy practice female clients consistently experience good results when using it for regulating their physical, mental, and emotional imbalances, especially those associated with menstrual cycles and menopause!

Geranium is truly a first-aid oil every woman should have on hand. Its tonifying action helps relieve nervous emotional conditions like anxiety, confusion, depression, lethargy, energy swings, moodiness and tearfulness.

Women have used Geranium successfully for years to relieve premenstrual conditions and to smoothly navigate the menopausal period.

Geranium supports and nourishes the adrenal cortex when ovarian estrogen decreases at menopause and promotes a smooth transition for women during this time bestowing its many well known benefits. Research is being done to understand the mechanism for exactly why Geranium is so effective in treating female imbalances.

Geranium's regulating properties act to balance the skin's natural sebum making it especially useful for nourishing combination skin types. It is excellent for any skin type, as it will balance too oily, too dry or combination skin types.

Geranium's value as a skincare oil extends to treating bruises, cuts, ulcers, broken capillaries and skin dermatitis, as well as rocacea and eczema. Geranium oil will keep your skin fresh, smooth and supple.

Geranium has been effectively used to treat an assortment of symptoms, including overcoming addiction, labor and childbirth, improved circulation, relief of congestion, detoxification, constipation, indigestion, as well as its traditional use for hormonal imbalances and menopausal difficulties.

Geranium also acts as a diuretic and can relieve fluid retention, as well as the uncomfortable swelling and bloating that often accompanies menstruation and the menopausal years.

As a "woman's oil" Geranium hormonal balancing effect has traditionally been enhanced when blended with Clary Sage to alleviate problems associated with menopause and menstruation.

AROMATIC BLENDS: Clary Sage, Lavender, Petitgrain, Rose, Sandalwood, Frankincense and Chamomile.

CAUTION: Due to its hormonal action Geranium should be avoided during pregnancy. Geranium can lower blood sugar, and should be avoided if you are hypoglycemic.

Please note: There are many cheap chemical copies of essential oils available, but these are not recommended for therapeutic use. For best results always use ethically wild crafted or pure, organic essential oils that are pesticide free!

Aromatherapy is a gentle and noninvasive complementary and alternative health care system used for balancing and synchronizing your body, mind and spirit to enhance your health. Please consult with your physician regarding your health concerns.
