You must also check the rating on your generator and the amount that your appliances take because if your generator only puts out a certain number of watts or amps it may not be able to run your refrigerator. And this means even if you have a generator you still will not be able to use it to keep your food cool. Please consider a back-up power systems such as a portable generator in advance of any hurricane storm. Once hurricane season gets well on its way many times the portable generators that are being built are backlogged and that means you will not be able to purchase one.
