Three Ways To Improve Your Traffic Today

The lifeblood of an internet business is traffic. Sufficient traffic allows the business to exist, too little traffic will cause the business to fail, and too much traffic (is there such a thing as too much traffic?) will cause the business to succeed. Most internet entrepreneurs that I know want to be in that last category. They would love to be in a position to test their bandwidth limits and web host's infrastructure.

We have all been tempted by the passing fads of internet marketing and advertising. We have all bought programs and packages, subscribed to newsletters and tutorials, and hung on the words of the field's gurus. Soon the programs and packages lie buried and unused on our hard drives or desk tops. Then we unsubscribe from the newsletters and tutorials in disappointment. Sometimes our traffic might increase a little but rarely do we see the astounding results we were promised. Eventually we learn more about internet marketing through the school of hard knocks and grow rather cynical about the promises that anyone makes.

Well cynics, I am going to make you a promise and I am not even trying to sell you anything. If you do these three simple things for your web site, internet business, blog, or newsletter then you will see traffic increase. You will not need to buy anything and you can do them today.

Traffic Tip 1 -- Choose proper keywords for site and fully optimize your site for these keywords. I wrote an in-depth article about this technique last week ( http://EstablishYourEpresence.com ) but simply use a Keyword Suggestion Tool (I recommend a free tool at my site) to select an appropriate keyword or phrase then make sure the keyword phrase is included in your site's title bar, alt tags (with your logo, for example), top headline for the page, and once within the text of your page.

Traffic Tip 2 -- Add to the content of your site. Are there special features you can offer that you create or borrow from others? Adding articles can be as easy as 1-2-3 with the help of a quality article directory (one that is human edited) such as mine at http://NowLearnMore.com . The more content your site includes than the more entry points for search engines and visitors. Plus regularly adding new content and features will make sure both search engines and visitors return more frequently as well as tell others about your special features. Publishing RSS feeds on your site can be a great way to add new, fresh content to your site that regularly updates without you needing to lift a finger.

Traffic Tip 3 -- Write articles to share with article directories, newsletters, blogs, and web sites. Syndicating your content is easy with the many article directories and article submission services available today (such as my directory at http://NowLearnMore.com ). I have written extensively on the benefits of article marketing before ( http://EstablishYourEpresence.com ) but I will summarize the benefits. Syndicating your articles provides valuable back links, ongoing targeted traffic, and enhances your reputation.

If you take a few hours today to take these three simply steps then you will see an increase in traffic however for continued growth the best strategy is to continue to work on your traffic building strategies. Check back on the success of keyword optimization in a month and tweak if necessary; continue to add to your site content and features; and regularly write and submit articles for syndication. I truly believe this is one of those cases where the harder you work then the greater your reward.
