Resume Considerations for First Responders and Fire Departments

Are you considering a job as a first responder or with a fire department? There are many things they will be looking for and they indeed have many requirements, which must be on your list of certificates and accomplishments and of course those should be listed in a bullet format on top.

Additionally you may be surprised how tough the competition is to get into some of these jobs and programs. It pays to have other activities related to this field as well things such as community service, volunteerism, lifeguard for 3-summers, etc.

What kinds of unique things can you put on your resume, which will set you apart in the community service and volunteer category you ask? Well, there are many things you can do to add to your resume.

A few years back I had a young lady contact me to use a Community Plan that I created called the Neighborhood Mobile Arson Watch Patrol and she implemented a similar custom tailored plan out near Santa Monica, CA. This along with a few other community things that she had done put her resume at the top of the pile and today she is a Fire Fighter and First Responder out there in California. So, perhaps you will consider all this in 2006.
